Angola receives less and less return on investments made abroad.

Dividends from Angolan investments abroad are slow to arrive in the country, with financial flows pointing only to the outflow of money from the country, as happened again in the first half of this year.

Angolan direct investments abroad show, in this regard, that the Government has not been able to correct what was wrong, since, as in the previous government, there were no financial imports resulting from investments between the years 2018 and 2022.

There have been only two inflows in the last eight years, that is, since 2016, in the scope of Angolan investment abroad, but not as a result of investment dividends, but rather as divestments.

It should be recalled that in 2017 Angola's direct investment abroad amounted to USD 1,352 million, while foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country, excluding the oil and diamond sector, did not exceed USD 27.2 million.

Kieto Economia knows that the direct investment of Angolans abroad is concentrated in a dozen operators. "This has not been an attitude that depends on a policy of businessmen in general, but rather on a small group of operators".

In the first six months, Angolan investment abroad required US$23.2 million to be sent abroad, but, as in the same period of the previous year, investors did not send any money to the country as a result of the investments.

This indicates that Angolan investments abroad are not yet bringing the expected returns to the country.
