Trans Atlantic Gem Sales puts 38 Angolan diamonds up for auction, one of which weighs 180 carats.

Public sale will be held online, with viewing sessions taking place from the 3rd to the 10th of October of the current year, at the SODIAM headquarters in Luanda. In total, there are 38 precious stones, originating from various mining exploration centers in Angola.

A total of 38 diamonds, of various carats, will be auctioned, from the 3rd to the 11th October, by Trans Atlantic Gem Sales, a Dubai company that was one of the winners of the selection process to hold diamond auctions in Angola. Of the total of 38 stones, one of the set, from the Lulo production, weighs 180 carats, and two pink stones, from the Lulo and Somiluana mines, Kieto Economia, from the SODIAM administration, learned.

According to the auction schedule, the viewing sessions will take place from the 3rd to the 10th of October 2023, at the SODIAM headquarters in Luanda, and the bidding process, which will be done electronically only, ends on the 11th of October, at 10 a.m. local time.

“This auction is aimed at customers registered in the SODIAM database, and who have expertise in the sale of special stones, and the lots will include a total of 38 stones.

These are 7 special stones of +10.80ct, produced by LULO; eight special stones of +10.80ct, from CATOCA production and one special stone of +10.80ct, from SOMILUANA production.

The list also includes three special stones of +10.80ct, from LUELE production, and nineteen special stones of +10.80ct from KAIXEPA production.

From the lot of 38 stones, one of 180 carats from LULO, and two pink stones, from LULO and SOMILUANA, stand out. According to SODIAM, a detailed participation package will be provided to invited participants at a later date.

Trans Atlantic Gems Sales is part of a group of two operators that won the tender for specialized Diamond Acidification [cleaning] and Auction services, launched in 2021 by the National Diamond Trading Company of Angola (SODIAM).

At the time, and in a statement, SODIAM said that the process of evaluating expressions of interest, from national and foreign companies, launched on May 20, 2021, for specialized Diamond Acidification and Auctions (Tenders) services, " which represent important services for the future Angola Diamond Exchange".

The other company in this group is First Element, with a presence in South Africa, Botswana and Dubai, won the process for the Diamond Acidification Unit and Trans Atlantic Gems Sales for Holding Diamond Auctions. The two companies thus began to lead the Angolan Diamond Exchange, which initially only held auctions.
