The chairman of the board of directors of the African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank, Benedict OKey Oramah, Afrexibank) met this Monday, 29th, with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in a meeting that addressed, among other issues, the possibility of expanding the financing line for the country, in an additional credit portfolio of 2.3 billion dollars, Kieto Economia learned from a note from the Presidency of the Republic to which it had access.
Benedict OKey Oramah told journalists, upon leaving the meeting, that he had discussed with the Head of State aspects related to Afreximbank's operations in Angola, taking the opportunity to announce the reinforcement of the credit line, which will finance initiatives such as the construction project of the Lobito refinery, the Cabinda refinery and the Soyo fertilizer factory.
The banker also expressed his support for Angola's development process in recent years, highlighting the construction of vital infrastructures that have served the population extensively.
Afrexibank is a pan-African multilateral institution created in 1993 to finance and promote trade on the continent.
