Oando Energy wins public tender for operator of Block KON 13 with 45% stake.
It is the only company operating the block, leaving behind Sonangol and Effimax as non-operators.
The Nigerian company, Oando Energy, won the limited public tender for Block KON 13, located in the Kwanza Onshore Basin, obtaining 45% of the stake as operator.
The tender, made public in 2023 by the National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), was announced this Friday. Oando was the big winner, with the largest percentage and the only company operating the block, leaving behind Sonangol and Effimax as non-operators.
The tender was based on the requirements for the National Concessionaire's Associate, namely, Operator (financial and technical capacity) and Non-Operator (financial capacity) of the participating companies, namely Oando Energy, Ace Energy, Walcot Limited and Cobalto Servisse, which were not winners.
However, the group of contractors for the block is made up of companies such as Oando Energy with 45% (operator), Effimax 30% and Sonangol with 15%, all of them as non-operators.
There is still 10% of participating interest for the award, as non-operators, which will be sold through a restricted tender to the companies that applied and did not win, for the status of operator.
