AGT moves forward with project that aims to reward regular taxpayers.
The information was provided by the chairman of the AGT board of directors at the end of the 1st Ordinary Meeting of the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers.
The General Tax Administration (AGT) plans to soon introduce a reward invoice scheme for individual taxpayers, as well as electronic invoicing for companies.
According to the public manager, the aim is to increase literacy on the importance of requesting invoices and ensure that companies are monitored by end consumers.
José Leiria was speaking at the end of the 1st Ordinary Meeting of the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers, chaired by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on 13 January, in Luanda.
In 2022, AGT announced the creation of the “lucky invoice”, an initiative presented as an incentive for greater tax collection in the economy.
The proposed prize-winning invoice scheme provides for regular prizes for individual taxpayers who request invoices for their purchases, as a way of encouraging the habit and combating tax evasion.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors said that the details of the prizes and the frequency of the prizes will be defined by the Minister of Finance in an Executive Decree, which will establish the respective rules, and the raffles for the invoices will be held regularly, in partnership with the Institute for the Supervision of Games (ISJ).
José Leiria explained that these measures, in addition to adapting tax legislation to new realities, aim to strengthen the efficiency of tax administration and promote greater tax justice. The implementation of this process will be done gradually, starting with large taxpayers.
