A growth of around 34% in IP and 7.2% in IVM was the balance of the fiscal year in 2024.

The General Tax Administration of Angola (AGT) collected 72.1 billion kwanzas from Property Tax (IP) and 5.1 billion from Tax on Motor Vehicles (IVM), in the fiscal year of 2024.

Within the scope of the fiscal balance for the period under analysis, the tax institution reports that there was a growth of 34% (72.1 billion) in IP and 7.2% (5.1 billion) in IVM, compared to the same period of the previous year. In which there was a total growth of 15% in IP and 11.7% in IVM.

According to the data, 400,449 properties were registered, including apartments, houses, offices and others, and 716,897 motor vehicles throughout the country.

Of these vehicles, 175 were aircraft, 3,057 boats, 77,642 motorcycles, 79,445 heavy vehicles and 556,578 light vehicles, representing an increase of 7.2% in the overall value.

In turn, the administrator, Leonildo Manuel, highlighted the provinces of Luanda, Benguela and Zaire as being those that contributed the most to the revenue collected.

“The province that collected the most, he said, is the one with the largest real estate area in the country,” he stressed. As is known, Luanda is the core of this precept, which added up to a total IP of more than 43 billion Kz, followed by Benguela with 1,000 million and finally Zaire with 4 billion, making up the Top 3 of the provinces that contributed the most to IP revenues and consequently to the IVM in 2024.
