Executive announces 500 million dollars of financing for the water sector.
Through the Ministry of Energy and Water, the Government says it has a financial envelope available to accelerate projects in the water sector. In fact, the new N’Dalatando Water Supply System is due to come into operation this year. But that’s not all.
A financial envelope of more than 500 million dollars is what the Angolan Executive has available for the rehabilitation and modernization of water supply systems in several regions of the country, the training of companies, the design of sanitation systems for seven coastal cities, among other projects, announced the Government, through the Minister of Energy and Water.
According to João Baptista Borges, "the new N’Dalatando Water Supply System should come into operation this year, and the new Saurimo Water Supply System and the expansion of the Benguela System in the next two years".
The minister was speaking at the opening of the 13th Consultative Council of this Ministerial Department, which runs until Friday, under the motto: "Energy and water, challenges and solutions for the expansion and sustainability of the sector".
With the conclusion of the ongoing actions, he explained, the aim is not only to expand access to drinking water but also to ensure that there are human and technical resources locally to ensure the sustainability of public water and sanitation services.
The 13th Consultative Council of the Ministry of Energy and Water was attended by the governor of the province of Luanda, Manuel Homem, vice-governors, among other guests.
